Meet Scout — your Discord LFG (Looking For Group) bot from GameTree. Scout makes it effortless to play with friends, communities, and new players you’re predicted to vibe with.
Scout lives inside Discord and works in any server that adds it. You can also use it in the GameTree Discord server.
What Scout Does
Scout handles the entire LFG flow so you can focus on playing:
- Create LFG sessions: Live, scheduled, or recurring, for any game on any platform. Set a repeating schedule like “every Tuesday at 3pm” and Scout posts it for you each week.
- Smart invites: Scout automatically invites relevant friends and compatible players in prioritized waves.
- Auto-created channels: Private voice and text channels for your group.
- Scheduled sessions: Plan ahead with automatic reminders at 1 hour and 10 minutes before start, plus an Add to Calendar button so it lands in your calendar.
- Game detection: Scout notices when you launch a game and can prompt you to LFG.
- Reach beyond your server: Sessions can travel between Scout-enabled servers, so a quiet server still fills a squad. Server owners control what comes in and goes out.
- XP and levels: Earn XP every time you host or join a session. Check your level with /profile.
- Works from your DMs: Run /lfg without opening Discord’s server list. Scout asks which server to post in.
- No spam: You control your availability, which invites you receive, and can mute games, mute hosts, or block players outright.
- Automatic cleanup: Scout removes channels, posts, and invites when sessions end and sends a session summary.
How It Works
- Someone creates a live or scheduled LFG with /lfg
- Scout notifies relevant players via DM, and anyone can browse open sessions with /sessions
- Players join the session
- The team plays
- Scout cleans everything up and sends a session summary
Scout can work standalone as a guest or with a linked GameTree account for enhanced matching based on your tastes, personality, and play style.
For Server Owners
Scout works the moment it joins, but a few things are worth knowing:
- Pick your LFG channel: Use /server-setup lfg-channel to choose where every LFG post lands.
- Cross-server LFG is on by default: Your sessions can reach players in other Scout servers, and theirs can reach yours. Use /admin-traffic filters to limit this by game, platform, or language, or to turn it off entirely.
- Custom welcome message: Use /server-setup welcome to replace the default DM new members receive. Supports {{displayName}}, {{username}}, and {{guildName}}.
- “In Session” role: Scout applies this role automatically while members are playing, so your server can see who is mid-game at a glance.
- Premium perks: Premium members get auto-bump and a longer session lifespan. Servers with Server Premium can also auto-tag members with game roles.
