Check your Discord settings: Settings, then Content & Social, then Social Permissions, then Direct Messages. Make sure “Allow direct messages from server members” is enabled for the server where Scout is installed.

Scout only sends invites when Discord shows you as Online or Idle. Check your status by clicking your profile at the bottom left in Discord and make sure you have a green or yellow dot. Also check, all with /preferences:

  • You have not muted the game or the host.
  • Your visibility is not set to Hidden.
  • You have not snoozed invites. Snooze lasts 24 hours, and you can end it early with the Unsnooze button.
  • The current time falls inside your availability windows, if you have set any.
  • The game is one Scout knows you play. Add it with /preferences add_favorite_game, or link a GameTree account to sync your library.

Scout sends invites in four waves rather than all at once. For an instant session those go out over the first 90 seconds. For a scheduled session they are spread across the time between creating it and the start time, so more people see it as it gets closer.

  • Give it a minute. If nobody is invited at all, there may be no online players in that server who have the game and accept invites.
  • Use /bump to repost and send a fresh wave. It asks how many more players to invite, from 1 to 20.
  • Link your GameTree account for better matching and friend invites.
  • Try playing during peak hours when more players are online.
  • Schedule sessions in advance to give players time to discover and RSVP.

Scheduling for a specific time, such as “8pm” or “Tuesday at 3pm”, needs Scout to know your timezone. Your timezone comes from a linked GameTree account, so link Discord from your GameTree profile and it will be set for you.

Without a linked account you can still create an instant session, or use the relative options in the setup panel: Now, In 30 minutes, In 1 hour, and In 2 hours. Those do not depend on your timezone.

Linking happens in the GameTree app, not in Discord. Sign in at gametree.me and connect Discord from your GameTree profile. Scout picks the connection up automatically, so there is no command to run.

If your profile still shows as unlinked, make sure you connected the same Discord account you use with Scout, then run /profile with your own username to check.

Type /end, or use the End Session button on the post. Only the host can end a session. Sessions also clean themselves up about a minute after everyone leaves the voice channel, so you do not have to remember.

Click the Leave button on the session post, or on the RSVP DM Scout sent you. There is no leave command.

When you receive an invite DM, click “Mute this game” to stop future invites for that game. You can also manage your muted games list with /preferences.
