Profile & Preferences

Manage how Scout interacts with you and how others see your profile.

Type /profile followed by any Discord or GameTree username to view a player’s profile. Your profile shows your games, platforms, language, timezone, and personality info if you have connected a GameTree account.

To enrich your profile, create a GameTree account, then sign in and link Discord from your GameTree profile. Scout picks the connection up automatically, so there is nothing to type in Discord. Linking unlocks personality based matching, a synced game library, and a cross-platform friends list.

Type /preferences to open your dashboard. It works in DMs as well as in a server.

  • Visibility: Set to Public (invites from anyone), Friends Only, or Hidden (no invites).
  • Availability: Set the hours you are usually free, so Scout only invites you inside those windows. Clear it at any time.
  • Snooze: Pause all invites for 24 hours. Press it again to unsnooze early.
  • Muted Games: Stop receiving invites for specific games.
  • Muted Hosts: Stop receiving invites from specific players.
  • XP notifications: Turn the level up and XP messages on or off.

You can also mute games or hosts directly from invite DMs by clicking the mute buttons.

Two extras run as command options rather than buttons:

  • /preferences add_favorite_game [game] adds a game to your favorites.
  • /preferences remove_favorite_game [game] removes one.

Friends get priority invites when you create LFG sessions, and their sessions are grouped into a “Friend sessions” section at the top when you browse with /sessions.

  • /friends add [username]: Add a friend by Discord or GameTree name.
  • /friends remove: Remove a friend. Takes no options, it opens a picker of your current friends.
  • /friends list: View your friends list.
  • /friends controls [user]: Show friend controls for a Discord user, including block and unblock.

Your timezone is set from your connected GameTree account. Once you link Discord to GameTree, Scout works it out from your profile location and saves it, and it appears on your profile.

Scheduling a session for a specific time, such as “8pm” or “Tuesday at 3pm”, needs a timezone. Without one you can still create instant sessions and use the relative options in the setup panel, such as Now, In 30 minutes, In 1 hour, and In 2 hours, since those do not depend on your timezone.
