/lfg

Create an LFG session and let Scout handle the rest.

Usage: /lfg [game] [recurring] [server]

Every option is optional. Run /lfg on its own and Scout opens a setup panel where you choose everything.

  • game (optional): Start typing and Scout will autocomplete game names. Leave it out and you can pick the game in the panel.
  • recurring (optional): Set a repeating schedule in plain language, such as “every Tuesday at 3pm”. Leave it blank for a one time session.
  • server (optional): Only needed when you run the command in a DM, to choose which server the session posts in.

Max players, start time, skill range, and region are chosen in the panel rather than passed as options:

  • Max players: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, or 10.
  • Start time: Now, In 30 minutes, In 1 hour, In 2 hours, Tonight (8pm), or Tomorrow. Sessions can be scheduled up to 8 days ahead.
  • Skill range: Any, Newbie, Casual, Intermediate, Advanced, or Expert. Some games have their own options, such as ranks and roles for Marvel Rivals, or playstyle and kit for ARC Raiders.
  • Region and Auto-bump toggles.

Press Create Session when you are happy, or Cancel to discard it.

Live sessions: Scout posts the session in your server’s LFG channel and creates a private voice and text channel for your group. Invites start going out immediately, in four waves across the first 90 seconds, so give it a moment before assuming nobody is around.

Join the voice channel when you can. If you never join and the channel is still empty, Scout closes the session for you. The first check happens about 15 minutes after the voice channel is ready, and Scout DMs you to say it closed. If other players have joined, the session stays open.

Scheduled sessions: Scout posts the session straight away so people can RSVP, and spreads invites across the time between creating it and the start, so the session keeps getting fresh exposure as it approaches. Reminders go out to everyone who joined at 1 hour and 10 minutes before the start, each with an Add to Calendar button. The voice channel is created at start time, and a final round of invites goes out.

Scheduling for a specific clock time needs Scout to know your timezone, which comes from a linked GameTree account. The relative options, Now and In 30 minutes and In 1 hour and In 2 hours, work without one.

  • /bump [number_of_players]: Repost your LFG and send a fresh wave of invites if you need more players. Tell Scout how many more to invite, from 1 to 20.
  • /end: End your session and clean up all channels, posts, and invites. Only the host can end a session.
  • Leave button: To leave a session you joined, use the Leave button on the session post or on the RSVP DM.
