Create an LFG session.
/lfg <game, optional: players/description/when>
This command will create an LFG hosted in whichever server the command was used, or in the GameTree server if used in the Direct Message chat with Scout.
The LFG will be shared:
- with LFG Friends in the server
- in an LFG post in the server’s #lfg channel
- with appropriate, directly invited community members
<Players> is a player count defaulted to a maximum of 4 players, unless the LFG is for a popular game, in which case it will default to the ideal group size (such as 5 for League of Legends or 4 for Battlefield 6).
<When> allows you to schedule the game in advance, or else it defaults to Now/Live if left blank. Sessions may be scheduled 8 days in advance. The time zone is set to the host’s time zone, controllable with “/timezone”, and shown in the viewers’ local times.
The LFG process is as follows:
- Create LFG.
- A private group chat, including the LFG Description, is made in the server the LFG was initiated, and linked by Scout to attendees. If the session is Now, a voice chat is also created, which the host must join before any Invites will be sent out. If the LFG is scheduled, the voice chat will be shared when the LFG starts.
- Invites are sent to GameTree LFG friends in the server who play the game, and have the start time matching their availability settings.
After 30 seconds, or immediately if no LFG friends are found, two invites are sent per still available spot to the most compatible players in the server (according to game, availability, playstyle, values, mutual servers, mutual friends).
Every 30 seconds thereafter, invites continue being sent until the max players is reached. - When the LFG is full, the LFG post and all outstanding invites are deleted.
- Invited users receive a Direct Message from Scout with details about the LFG, with an option to attend or decline. Manual declining will result in immediately sending out more invites.
- LFG’s scheduled in advance have waves of invites: at creation, 1/3 until the start time, 2/3 until start, and right when the session starts. RSVP’d attendees will receive reminders and an option to cancel RSVP. Host may cancel with a button or “/end”.
- When the call is empty, or the host uses “/end”, a Session Summary is sent to each attendee with options to add other players as LFG Friends, and the bot cleans up the leftover group chat and voice channel.
Due to the prevalence of cross-platform play, LFG’s are gaming platform agnostic (PC, Xbox, etc).
You may not LFG if you are already in a session, or have one scheduled at that time, and may only have a few scheduled LFG’s at a time.
