Unfortunately, no, Star Wars Outlaws is not multiplayer. This is sad news for all franchise fans who were expecting Star Wars Outlaws to feature a cooperative mode.
Reasons Behind The Decision
The game was originally conceived as a single-player adventure with a focus on the story. Game director Mathias Karlson confirmed in an interview that they “are super focused on delivering a single-player experience.”
The Community’s Perspective On The Multiplayer And Coop Modes
Despite the fact that it was stated that this is an adventure game designed for one player, the Reddit community still has questions about whether Star Wars Outlaws is single-player or multiplayer.
As always, game fans are divided into two camps – those who vote for single mode and those who vote for multiplayer. Of course, it’s a pity that we won’t be able to play this game together with my friends from GameTree, but, on the other hand, there are many other multiplayer games. For example, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, released in the same universe. So, if you’re upset that Star Wars Outlaws is not a co-op, you may try this title.
Will Star Wars Outlaws Be Multiplayer In The Future?
At the moment, there are no plans to make Star Wars Outlaws multiplayer, and I am inclined to think that it will not happen. Star Wars has a very large community, and if the game is a big success and fans really ask for it, perhaps the developers will release some DLC. Although, knowing Ubisoft, if they add co-op, it will most likely be some kind of spin-off or a full-fledged second part. Besides, there are so many great multiplayer games for PS and Xbox that there’s no need to wait for the release of a co-op DLC for Star Wars Outlaws!
