Valorant, with its intense team-based gameplay, demands clear and concise communication. Understanding how to chat in Valorant and how to type in Valorant is essential for coordinating with your team and maximizing your chances of victory. From my experience, good communication has often been the difference between a win and a loss.

Team Chat and Party Chat

Team chat goes to all four of your teammates. Party chat goes only to the friends you queued with.

How to Type in Team Chat

1. Press Enter during a match. The chat box opens in Team chat.
2. Type your message.
3. Press Enter to send it. Everyone on your team sees it, even players not in your party.

How to Type in Party Chat

1. Press Enter to open the chat box.
2. Type /p or /party, then a space, then your message.
3. Press Enter. Only your party members see it.

All Chat

Using the all-chat in Valorant allows you to communicate with both your team and the opponents, perfect for general discussions and friendly banter.

How To Type In All Chat Valorant

1. Press Shift+Enter. The chat box opens in All chat. You can also press Enter and type /all or /a.
2. Type your message. Both teams will see it, so keep your plans out of it.
3. Press Enter to send.

Private Chat

Using Valorant Voice Chat

Voice is faster than typing, so most teams talk this way. Open Settings > Audio > Voice Chat to set it up.

• Team Voice reaches your whole team. It is on by default and is push-to-talk only. The default key is V.
• Party Voice reaches only your party. It is on by default with push-to-talk on U. You can switch it to Automatic so your mic opens when you speak.
• Keep at least one of the two turned on, or voice chat will not work.
• Use Loopback Test on the same screen to hear your own mic. If you hear nothing, check your Input Device and Output Device.

How to Communicate on Valorant Console
