Minecraft offers nearly limitless opportunities for entertainment and fun due to its flexibility. Along with the standard story mode and building mode, you can completely change the game with numerous mods or even play a different game within Minecraft. Since this game is incredibly popular, I won’t dwell on that. Instead, I’d like to focus on things to do in Minecraft with friends.
9 Things To Do In Minecraft With Friends And Have Fun
Playing games with friends is a blast! But with so many custom game modes out there, it can get confusing. So, what to do in Minecraft with friends? Some Reddit users love cooperative building, while others enjoy custom maps for new experiences. And then there are those who prefer organizing challenges with friends. Personally, I’m all about Minecraft challenges which I can do with my buddies and original maps, so here are my top recommendations.
Race For Wool PvP
Get ready for an exciting resource gathering race! Players will be divided into two teams and compete on a map with two separate and identical tracks. The map is filled with cool obstacles and tricky traps, and players must search for special wool and race to bring it back to the Victory Monument. The winning team is the first to find all the hidden wool. This competition includes PvP, and teams can have fun getting creative by interfering with each other in different ways, like using long-range weapons or setting off traps.
Tip:
The most recent and fun version is Race for the Wool – Bleb Edition
Overthrow The Overlord
Overlord is hands down one of the best Minecraft mods to play with friends! It lets you take charge of skeleton minions, summon them, give them orders, and watch them go after your enemies. Plus, you can gear up your skeletons with all sorts of weapons and armor. Imagine teaming up with your friends and unleashing your skeleton armies to take on fun PvE challenges in Minecraft together!
Tip:
To obtain your first skeleton, you will need to perform a special ritual. First, create a coffin and place a bone and milk inside. Then, bury the coffin and put a cross next to it. During the night, a baby skeleton will appear, which should be fed with milk to help it grow. Quite sweet, isn’t it?
Hardcore Survival Pact
This is another fun thing to do on Minecraft with friends. Here, you can really crank up the challenge of the original game with special survival mechanics. You’ll have to keep track of various things like thirst, endurance, wounds, and mental health. Make sure to use the right items – like bandages for healing and water to stay hydrated. It’s one of my go-to Minecraft add-ons for playing with friends – we’re all about those hardcore games.
Tip:
Hardcore Survival Pact borrows mechanics from such hardcore survival games as Don’t Starve, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, Project Zomboid and others.
Skyblock Civilization
If you haven’t already, you should definitely check out SkyBlock, one of the most popular Minecraft adventure maps of all time. It’s a super fun game where you and your friends are dropped onto a small floating island high in the sky. Your task is to survive and complete Minecraft challenges with friends using limited resources.
Tip:
If you die on this map before you can fall asleep in a bed, you will not be able to return to the created island.
Underground Empire
Lots of players like to build their homes in big biomes with plenty of resources. But if you’re feeling adventurous, why not challenge yourself and your friends by building a house in a cave, underwater, or even in The Nether or The End? Each location will definitely test your skills before you can create a cozy home.
Tip:
Remember that you cannot sleep in a bed in The Nether and The End worlds as this will cause an explosion.
Treasure Hunt
Here’s an exciting Minecraft challenge to do with friends – going on a treasure hunt! One person hides valuable items or creates an interesting object or secret room, and the rest try to find it. To make the challenge more interesting, you can come up with clues, riddles, or puzzles to help others find the hidden treasures.
Tip:
If you don’t know what to hide or how to make the clues interesting, you can start with ready-made themed custom maps.
Capture The Flag
Try Capture the Flag with your friends. This is another fun thing to do in Minecraft with friends. Each team has a flag hidden at the base. The game’s goal is to steal the enemy’s flag and bring it to your base without letting them steal yours. This mod has PvP and 13 classes to choose from, with a choice of both melee and ranged weapons and various spells.
Tip:
More than 30 maps have already been created for Capture the Flag, so you won’t be bored.
Hunger Games Challenge
Ever wanted to experience the classic battle royale in the world of Minecraft, inspired by the Hunger Games movies? Join a large number of players as they fight on a map with limited resources, until only one victor remains! This is a real challenge in Minecraft to do with friends and a test of your loyal friendship.
Tip:
This mode is still incredibly popular and there are a huge number of servers available, so you will not have problems finding a match.
Need More Players? Find Minecraft Teammates At GameTree
Have a Minecraft challenge idea but don’t have enough friends in the game? Go to the GameTree app and launch matchmaking! Our AI algorithm will quickly select players for you based on your preferences, playstyle, level in Minecraft, language, location, and other features. We select the most suitable teammates for you, and you enjoy the game and make new friends more easily – it’s that simple!
Final Thoughts
Creativity and a creative approach are what I love so much about Minecraft and sandbox games in general. If you are bored and are looking for fun things to do in Minecraft with friends, try the mods and challenges that I described in this article. Good mood and many hours of exciting gameplay are guaranteed!
