12 Best Games Like Fortnite To Play In 2024

12 Fortnite Like Games That Are Actually Worth Playing

Best games like Fortnite that are worth your attention

Fortnite is a unique game; it has collected all possible awards and won the love of players around the world, including mine. This is by far the best battle royale game I still play. However, let’s not underestimate other games on the market. In this article, I have collected the top games like Fortnite that are also worthy of your attention. If you’re a little tired of this game, check out my list and find your new favorite.

Why Has Fortnite Become So Popular?

Fortnite today is more than just a game but a real cultural phenomenon. Honestly, I don’t know a game better than Fortnite. The developers, Epic Games, took a niche on the wave of the nascent popularity of battle royales. The game was originally an open-world co-op survival simulator in which players had to work together to fend off zombie-like monsters. The game took off at a time when PUBG was gaining popularity on the market and, unlike it, did not have so many technical problems. And most importantly, it was free to play. To be honest, at one time, this is what attracted me, too.

But that’s not the only reason games similar to Fortnite have quickly gained popularity. This game featured stylized cartoon graphics, fast-paced combat, accessible system requirements for any hardware, and a unique construction feature. All this was then copied by other battle royale titles.

Also, constant updates, generous battle passes, thrilling collaborations with movies and other game franchises, and in-game concerts have made Fortnite one of the most popular games in its genre. I think it’s fantastic that inside Fortnite, I can play as Kratos from God of War, my friend can play as Loki from the Avengers, and together, we can find ourselves at a concert of a popular singer. Yes, right in one battle royale game. Can you imagine this?

12 Best Games Similar To Fortnite That Are Worth Your Attention

As cool as Fortnite is, sometimes you just want to try something new, don’t you? Below, I have collected 12 games like Fortnite that have their unique features and are worthy of your attention.

12. Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is a parody of games like Fortnite.
  • Metacritic Rating: 65
  • Platforms: Windows
  • Price: Free-to-play

It is a battle royale game with ragdoll physics that is a parody of games like Fortnite. The gameplay is similar to other battle royales. Still, the distinctive feature is the local physics, thanks to which all the characters’ movements are exaggerated: limbs can stretch, and firearms have very strong recoil.

Another distinctive feature of this game compared to other battle royales is the ability to simultaneously use any two types of one-handed weapons. The fast pace of the game, the story, and the atmosphere of general madness are partly similar to the atmosphere of Fortnite. Of course, it won’t be able to replace Fortnite, but this game is not going to do that. What it will definitely be able to do is lift your spirits and entertain you for more than one evening.

11. Rogue Company

Rogue Company is perfect for those who are tired of battle royale but want a game just like Fortnite in terms of the atmosphere
  • Metacritic Rating: 75
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch
  • Price: Free-to-play

Rogue Company is a multiplayer third-person shooter featuring a variety of characters, each with their own abilities, equipment, and perks to choose from. The game is perfect for those who are tired of battle royale but want a game just like Fortnite in terms of the atmosphere and fast-paced, responsive gunplay.

This game offers challenging 4v4 and 6v6 modes and is similar to those found in Counter-Strike and Overwatch. In Demolition mode, we need to plant a bomb while playing as one team or prevent it if you are on the other side. In Extraction mode, we need to activate a specific terminal in the game world; there are no respawns and only one objective point for which both teams fight. Strikeout mode is the most original of all, where each team only has a limited number of shared respawns. The trick is that in this mode, there is one control point, holding which we deprive the enemy team of respawns.

10. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Fall Guys is a popular Fortnite-type game if you're looking for something with a similar atmosphere.
  • Metacritic Rating: 81
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch
  • Price: Free-to-play

Fall Guys is another popular Fortnite-type game if you’re looking for something with a similar atmosphere. This game is not a shooter like most battle royales, and that is what makes it stand out. Fall Guys is a platformer that meets a battle royale game.

Each match is divided into several rounds and involves up to 60 players. Players participate in mini-games in each round and must complete a specific task. These mini-games are varied; for example, you must get to the finish line earlier or stay on the level for a certain period, score the most goals, etc. Mini-games can be either individual or require team action from several players. The game continues until one participant remains in the final round.

9. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is a vampire-themed battle royale game
  • Metacritic Rating: 75
  • Platforms: Windows, PlayStation 5
  • Price: Free-to-play

This is a vampire-themed battle royale game based on the popular board game of the same name. In terms of dynamics and shooting, the game is similar to Fortnite, so it is ideal for those who want similar gameplay but without construction and in a darker and non-cartoon style.

Among the original features of this battle royale, I can name the presence of parkour and vertical gameplay. You can climb onto the roofs of buildings or go down into the subway. Unsuspecting passers-by walk along the streets at night and may well turn out to be useful to us as a source of health replenishment or harmful since they can notice you and raise the alarm. In this case, you will appear on the map and become an easy target for other players.

8. Realm Royale Reforged

Realm Royale Reforged is a lot like Fortnite and stands out from its competitors due to the presence of a fantasy setting
  • Metacritic Rating: 65
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch
  • Price: Free-to-play

This is a battle royale set in the universe of the fantasy MOBA shooter Paladins. The game is a classic battle royale and offers single-player or co-op battles with a third-person view for up to 100 players. Stylistically, the game is like Fortnite and stands out from its competitors due to the presence of a fantasy setting, classes, the ability to craft weapons, and a huge map.

7. Hunt: Showdown

Hunt: Showdown is a shooting Fortnite-like game
  • Metacritic Rating: 81
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4
  • Price: $23

Hunt: Showdown is a first-person PvP shooter about monster hunting, combining dark action and survival elements. In this shooting Fortnite-like game, we take on the role of a hunter, fulfilling contracts to kill monsters. The hunter gains passive skills that provide certain bonuses as the character develops. At the same time, the deceased fighter disappears from the game forever; the player loses all weapons, perks, and half of the experience gained for this mission.

An important point of this Fortnite-like game is the confrontation with other players, whose characters are also fighting to fulfill the contract. In addition to its atmosphere and realistic graphics, the game gives a new look at the concept of royal battles, focusing not on fighting to the end but on survival and escape.

6. The Eliminator (Forza Horizon 4 And 5)

The Eliminator is a game mode in the world of Forza Horizon
  • Metacritic Rating: 92
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox
  • Price: $59.99

The Eliminator is a game mode in the world of Forza Horizon and one of the most unique battle royales in which there is no shooting. Instead, there are cars. 72 cars take part in the battle, and only one survives at the end. Your goal is to destroy other cars, either by trapping them outside the playing area or by beating them in races.

5. Roblox

Roblox is a building game like Fortnite.
  • Metacritic Rating: 48
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4
  • Price: Free-to-play

Roblox is a building game like Fortnite. It is a sandbox game and a unique platform for creating games and your own mods, as well as selling and buying them. The game is perfect for those who enjoy building in Fortnite Creative. In short, you can do whatever you want in this game. It doesn’t matter if you just want to build something or you like to play various mods and games – there is nothing in the game that stops you from being creative.

4. Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is fast-paced gunplay similar to games like Fortnite
  • Metacritic Rating: 79
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox, PlayStation
  • Price: Free-to-play

The creators of Call of Duty have released their own version of the battle royale, which is just as popular as the main games in the series. If you love fast-paced gunplay in games like Fortnite, you’ll love Warzone. It combines the traditional elements of Call of Duty with unique game mechanics. Up to 150 players participate in the royal battle. If you lose, you have the chance to get back into the match by fighting 1v1 players in a small cage match. Warzone also features full cross-play, so for me, it’s easy to play with my GameTree friends who use different platforms.

3. PUBG: Battlegrounds

PUBG is the game that started the popularity of the battle royale genre and is very much like Fortnite
  • Metacritic Rating: 86
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4
  • Price: Free-to-play

PUBG is the game that started the popularity of the battle royale genre. PUBG was released before Fortnite, had no competitors at launch, and was extremely popular. Technical problems, higher system requirements, and a paid distribution model at the start were the reasons why PUBG was surpassed by Fortnite. However, PUBG is still original and will appeal to fans of realistic shooter games and more measured tactical gameplay. I mean, hiding in the bushes, waiting for the right moment, etc., since Fortnite-like games in the battle royale genre are mainly focused on fast-paced gunplay.

2. Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is another game that is like Fortnite.
  • Metacritic Rating: 79
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox, PlayStation
  • Price: Free-to-play

This is another game that is like Fortnite. Overwatch 2 is a heroic team-based first-person shooter in which players are divided into two teams and select heroes with unique abilities from an impressive pool available. They participate in matches consisting of such dynamic PvP modes as “Escort,” “Control,” and “Capture the Flag.” This new Fortnite-like game will appeal to players who enjoy team play and fast-paced combat, as well as the game’s overall arcade feel and bright cartoon style.

Overwatch features different classes: tanks, damage, and support characters. Creating teams from different combinations of heroes is the basis of the strategy for winning the match. For this reason, I like to use the Overwatch LFG feature on GameTree so that I can immediately find like-minded people with specific ultimates.

1. Apex Legends

Apex Legends is one of the most versatile and popular battle royale games like Fortnite.
  • Metacritic Rating: 89
  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch
  • Price: Free-to-play

Apex Legends is one of the most versatile and popular battle royale games, with various legends to choose from. Those who love games like Fortnite, should definitely try this title and find Apex teammates to enjoy the co-op gameplay to the fullest.

This battle royale brings together all the best – the fast pace of the game, like in Fortnite, a huge number of different heroes with unique abilities like in Overwatch, constant map updates, and the addition of various skins. All this makes Apex Legends a relevant and very interesting Fortnite alternative.

Final Thoughts

In this article, I have listed the best games that you can play if you like Fortnite. All of the games on this list have at least a few similarities to Fortnite in gameplay or atmosphere. The most important thing is that each game, in one form or another, is original. For example, there are not so many games like Fortnite with building mechanics– the only such alternative is Roblox. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt has a dark, gothic setting, and the Eliminator mode in Forza Horizon is about cars, not humans, etc.

Anyway, these titles are not Fortnite copies or killers but have their own interesting and unique gameplay. Each of these games is a favorite of mine, and I invite you to share the gaming experience with me. See you in the GameTree chats!
